Let's embark on a journey to Primary School

In the month of June, the K2 children had the opportunity to do a project work on the theme 'Going to Primary School'. They surely had pretty lots of enquiries regarding life as a primary school student. To make the learning journey an interesting one, we invited our alumni, Yeo See Kang, to brief our K2 children regarding life in primary school.

Yeo See Kang giving briefing to the K2s all about Primary School.

Yeo See Kang showed his K2 friends how to pack his bag, went through his school diary and answered his K2 friends' queries.

Apart from getting informations from our alumni, the K2 children also brainstormed on questions pertaining to Primary School life such as curriculum and timetable, food served, and friends and teachers.
They wrote down their questions in a paper and attempted to find answers. The K2s had the opportunity to use the laptop and internet to search for a few answers. It helps to practice spelling and reading in order to search for the information required.

They also borrowed books from Woodlands Regional Library about school map, and food (so they can plan for menu for canteen food).

Look at focused the children are, while planning out the school map!

After all the planning, the K2s seemed to be geared up for Primary School! Let's wish them all the best and continue to have a joyful learning experience ahead!

Paper Elephant

What is the best way to reinforce on what we have learnt about parts of an elephant?

It is to create one ourselves!

While creating the 3D paper elephant, we also learnt how to use a stapler safely.

Let's decorate our elephants to make them really unique!

We can't wait to bring our elephants home!

Let's help to take care of my new pet when it is home!

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do....

The K2s had a ball of their time as they played different types of instruments and movement activities!
Through these activities, they learnt about high and low pitch sounds and also fast and slow beat.

Make it a daily affair to sing and dance together with your child! Doesn't matter if you only have a minute to spare :)

Delicious Healthy Wholemeal Bread

Bread, the simplest food that can be found in supermarkets, coffee shop and your home. However, how many of us have actually made bread before? The K1 and K2 took on the challenge!

Let's touch and feel our most important ingredient: bread flour and wholemeal flour.

Let's measure and pour the ingredients into our mixing bowl!

It's time to mix the ingredients!

Don't forget yeast and water!

After mixing the ingredients, we left the batter to rest for a day.

The following day, the children saw how much the batter had raised. It became so sticky after a night rest!

With some flour in our hands, we mould the bread batter into different designs.

Yummy wholemeal bread is ready for the oven!
